Ensuring Safe Operations for Mineral Resources

The Challenge
Mineral Resources operates an iron haul road in the Yilgarn region, with triple trailer road trains navigating the intersection every 12 minutes. The challenge was to install a solar light post at the intersection without disrupting traffic flow or compromising safety. The project required coordination with multiple stakeholders, traffic management and contractors, as well as compliance with strict operational and safety standards. Ensuring uninterrupted vehicle movements along the Great Eastern Highway was critical.
Our Approach
CAPER Group conducted an extensive site assessment, engaging all stakeholders to identify potential obstacles and risks. We collaborated with Main Roads WA to secure permits and develop traffic management plans. Our team excavated and installed a fully engineered footing for the light post. Partnering with local contractors, we successfully lifted the solar light post into place. Our electrical tradespeople conducted comprehensive compliance checks to ensure functionality and adherence to safety standards.
The Result
The new solar light post provided a safe, energy-efficient lighting solution, allowing vehicles to enter and exit the intersection without incident. The project was completed without interruptions to traffic flow, demonstrating CAPER Group’s expertise in coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
